THE JOURNEY
Man came into this world with nothing of himself and of a surety, we shall take nothing out of it; for it is appointed unto man once to die, and after that, the judgment. Every soul will take one of the two journeys: one to the kingdom of God, and the other to hell. The journey to the kingdom of God starts with a realization of who Jesus Christ is. With that realization, comes the recognition of one’s sins and the need to be bought over by the blood of Jesus. To give one’s life to the Lord Jesus Christ is a genuine repentance from (forsaking of) one’s way, will, desire, lifestyle, personality, and a determination to live as Christ lived. When you give your life to Christ, the Lord starts to speak to you and direct you in your daily activities. All things you do and say are brought under the scrutiny of the eyes of God. A believer in Christ is like a newborn baby learning how to speak, eat, walk etc. You now have to do all these things in the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. No longer after your own understanding, desire, thought, flesh, or belief. “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things passed away, behold all things become new.”
As the journey continues in Christ, remember all those who live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Jesus said in His Word that a servant is not greater than the master. If they persecuted Him, they would persecute those who have chosen to follow Him. Jesus is the Master and we His servants. If you live the life of Christ, you will be persecuted. Persecution comes because you are led by the Holy Spirit of Christ to reprove sin in your own life and in the lives of others; to speak of God’s judgment against unrighteousness and because you live the way Jesus lived.
As you continue in this journey to the kingdom of God, your faith will be tested to see if you are really following Christ, or you are just following yourself or religion. The testing of faith is not as the world would see it (losing a car, house, job, family, etc…). See how the Disciples of Christ of old were tested. Anything that goes against God’s Word; be it culture, tradition, belief, nationality, your own desire, your plan etc., will undergo the test of God’s Word. Gideon was asked to throw down the altar that men worshipped. It was not something he wanted to do, but he was obedient to the instruction of the Lord.
Beware of many who proceed in this journey to the kingdom of God and by and by, lose the standard and zealousness of Christ. They start to see themselves above rebuke, correction, and they no longer see Christ.
This may not take place immediately, but may be 10, 20, 30, or so years later. Will this be the story of your life? The Word of God says that it is not the beginner of the race, but he who has endured to the end in the will of God that shall be saved. Pride sets in when you raise yourself above the Holy Spirit of Christ. Do not be a mature Christian. For Christ can do no more in the life of a mature Christian. Be a babe who thirsts continuously for the pure Word of God. Running this race to the kingdom of God means standing against all false spirits and all who name the name of Christ in deceitfulness. There must be a readiness to reject all that is not of Christ. Many deceivers will come looking like Christ, talking like Christ, and preaching falsehood, but it is for that Child of God to refute and reject all that are contrary to the life of Christ and the Holy Spirit of Christ. Paul said in the Word of God, “but though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you, than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again. If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
There is time no longer. The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is at hand and now the fulfillment of God’s Word coming to pass on both the godly, and the ungodly.
Jesus said in His Word, “And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me to give every man according as His work shall be.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the First and the Last. Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city.” But remember, “…and there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie, but they which are written in the lamb’s book of life…” Strive for that holiness, strive for that perfection of Christ, and strive to the very end.
